A Little Christmas Sparkle

Where to even start!?

As soon as we met Rebecca & James for their engagement shoot, I knew their wedding would be nothing short of amazing. As a Derby wedding photographer I jumped at the chance of going a little further afield to shoot at a wedding venue we've never been to before.

Tucked away in the Lincolnshire countryside, Aswarby Rectory has been gracefully restored to create a beautiful, authentic space in which you can gather with the ones you cherish the most.

With exclusive use of the whole property, Rebecca and James got ready in separate rooms in the house. Rebecca with her bridal party, making those last minute touches to her flowers - which she did herself, and making sure hair and makeup was perfect.

Here come the boys

For the boys it was much more laid back, a few beers and sorting out buttonholes and pocket squares. Rebecca & James had written notes to each other before they saw each other down the aisle, which I always think is a lovely touch.

I Do

Before they knew it, it was time to exchange vows and rings.

Just the two of us

Even though Aswarby is a fairly small venue, there's plenty of beautiful space for some couple portraits. The winter light was perfect for taking some shots in the grounds of Aswarby.

A little toast

The wedding breakfast room was adorned with little subtle touches of Christmas sparkle. Crafted paper trees, candles and sprigs of pine and greenery made it feel rustic yet elegant.

Party!

And just like that, it was party time!
